Mrs. Bill Nelson and children arrived in Roosevelt Saturday to join Mr. Nelson,- who has been living here since accepting a position with the local A C A office early in May. 10 Years Ago The possibility of developing Lake Boreham into a pleasure resort for use ' by the general public gained additional support last Thursday when a delegation delega-tion of enthusiastic boosters from Roosevelt and Duchesne met at the lake shore with Mr. Maxfield, of the State Rdad Commission, and Wm. J. Eus-tice, Eus-tice, state projeot director, and discussed a proposed plan. At the final assembly of the Roosevelt High School, Junior Moysh, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Moysh, of Roosevelt, was awarded the all-around athletic trophy, which stands about 11 inches high and is of gold color. It was awarded by Bert Asay, former coach at Roosevelt. Lawrence Birtcher, son of Mr. and Mrs Jesse Birtcher, of Roosevelt, was runner-up. County School Superintendent, Superinten-dent, W. J. Bond, spent some time in Roosevelt last week making arrangements for summer sum-mer band work for the Roosevelt Roose-velt High School district. Band Director Bennie Schmiett nas been secured to instruct the summer work. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Reynolds Reyn-olds and Mr. and Mrs.- Merlyn Reynolds, of Salt Lake City, arrived here Tuesday to spend a few days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Reynolds. Miss Naomi Dillman, comely '21-year-old senior at Utah State Agricultural College in Logan, and her two brothers, Ray Earl Dillman, 24, and Miles Dillman, 22, all of Roosevelt, are to receive re-ceive college degrees soon. Earl Dillman is a law student at I ' diversity di-versity of Utah, and Miles is a science student at Brigham Young University. ! I 20 Years Aso A ten-man golf gamp will be played on the Roosevelt golf course Sunday at 10 o'clock, between be-tween Duchesne and Roosevelt This is the first of a series of games to be played this season. Miss Catherine Hall, a member mem-ber of the "Beehive Swarm" of the Roosevelt Ward, won the stake first prize for the best scrap book. The prize is a Beehive Bee-hive ring. The Central High School' 4-H Club has been organized with S. K. Daniels, .of Mt. Emmons, as leader, and Max Hartman, also of Mt. Emmons, as assistant leader. President J. O. Orser of the Roosevelt Business and Professional Profes-sional Women's Club, Thora Sa-bey, Sa-bey, Leona Olsen. Mrs. Parley Lambert and Margaret ' and Edythe Neal will leave here Saturday to attend the state convention to be held at Hotel Bigelow in Ogden, May 28-29. |
