Show Union FFA Wins Snare Of Honors j At Vernal Show j The Future Farmers af Un- ionHigh School took their share of honors at the Uintah iiasin Livestock Show held at Vernal May 27 and 28. The chapter competed in livestock live-stock judging and tied wth t;ie Moon Lake chapter for first place. High point men in the contest were Dallas Murray, 1st place, and Dale Harrison, 2nd place, both of Union. In the fitting and showing contests, Darris Rasmussen, of Union High, won first place with beef; Charles Springer, first with hogs. Both of these boys were awarded a pen and pencil set. Don Burris exhibited the grand champion boar, a Poland China, and a Poland China sow, which took second place. Charles Springer exhibited a 1st place fat hog, and Dale Harrison Harri-son had a Duroc sow which took 2nd place. The following places were awarded beef exhibitors: Darris Rasmussen, 1st; Darrell Hall, 2nd; Keith Bastian, 2nd; Lloyd Morrill, 3rd; Stanley Morrill, 3rd. Darris Rasmussen also' exhibited ex-hibited six sheep which won three 1st place and three - 2nd place ribbons. |
