The pay-off ; came from a depth of 4123 feet, and gave Utah its fourth producing pro-ducing well, two of which are in the Uintah Basin. The board of directors of the J. C. Penney Company have authorized au-thorized a special payment of an amount equal to two weeks' pay, for all full-time associates who have been employed for the full year of 1948 and on a proportionate basis for extra and part time associates and for those employed less than a year. Marimon, Jr., for his third term as secretary. 10 Years Ago j Director Ross Leonard, Marion Mar-ion Madsen and Engineer Johnson, John-son, of the Utah State Fish and Game department, spent several days in the Basin this week making arrangements for the starting' of construction of the rebuilding of the old hatchery building at Whiterocks. Three thousand dollars was approved at the last commissioner commission-er meeting for the starting of the improvement project, which will run over a period, of several sev-eral years. December 7th ended the Bond and Stamp drive for the Roosevelt Roose-velt High School to buy an era-phibious era-phibious jeep. The school went over the top with a $3786.25 buy. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Rawlings are the proud parents of a baby boy, born Saturday, Dec. 11, at Roosevelt. This is the second son of the Rawlings. Mother End babe are reported to be getting albng fine. Robert and Margaret Ferron, students of the University of Utah, were home over the weekend. week-end.
