Show Ute Tribe Members Given $370,850.00 Per Capita Fund 1,764 registered members of the Ute Indian tribe residing on the Uintah - Ouray reservation reser-vation Wednesday received a $370,950 payment. Payment was made through the the Fort Duchesne Du-chesne office. This represents a per capita -payment of $225 to 899 registered regis-tered adults and $195 to each of the 865 registered children. The payment to children reflects the $30 income tax withheld by the Uintah-Ouray agency. Adults are responsible for payment of their own income tax and no withholding has been made from this plament. Income tax withheld from this per capita payment to children amounts to $25,950. A total of $84 for each child has been withheld during this year. The current per capita payment pay-ment is from oil royalties and reflects a 27.5 per cent allowance allow-ance for depletion reserve. With Wednesday's per capita payment, each registered Indian on the reservation will have received re-ceived a total of $1,325 this " year. Of this amount, $825 is tax-free, being considered a part of the 27.5 per cent allowed for oil depletion reserve. |
