Show School Party, Santa At Park, Judging Homes, To Entl Program The City of Roosevelt wdH go into the final phases of its pre-Christmas program during the next few days, with the Ele. mentary School program tonight, to-night, Thursday, at 7:30. at the school gym; final appearance appear-ance of Santa Claus next Saturday, Satur-day, and the judging of the home and business decorating set for December 22. According io Floyd Peterson, general chairman, every committee com-mittee given an assignment has responded nobly to the call, and because of that cooperation j Santa and Christmas have been ' ushered into the community in a credible fashion. Santa Claus, who has appeared in various business establishments establish-ments the past two weeks, will appear officially tonight at about 8:30 to give gift bags to the school kiddies. Then Saturday, Satur-day, immediately following the matinee at the Uinta Theatre, about 3 p.m., the jolly old fellow fel-low will be at the City Park, under the direction of the Lions Club, to present all the kids in the country who ' are in Roosevelt Roose-velt with another gift bag. The first appearance of Santa was on Dec. 5, under the direction di-rection of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the turning- on of the lights, which were hung under the joint sponsorship of Kiwanis and the American Legion, Leg-ion, with the latter group responsible re-sponsible for the beautifully decorated and lighted tree on the Commercial Bank corner, officially opened the holiday season in Roosevelt. This weekend the local merchants merch-ants are engaged in a Christmas Dollar Day event that is offering offer-ing Christmas shoppers some fine bargain opportunities to complete their gift buying. Local Lo-cal merchants desire to' assure their patrons they still have a fine supply of Christmas merchandise merch-andise to fill each need. |
