Show Funeral Held Funeral services were held on Monday for Mrs. Rhoda Knight Merrell, 63, who died on Friday at 1 p. m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Gardiner. Born Sept. 15, 1890 in Payson, , a daughter of Newell and Lizetta Liddle Knight. She married Charles Elwin Merrell. July 9. 1909. She was active in the LDS church. The following survive: her husband, six sons and four daughters, Newell, Charles, Frank and Earl; Mrs. Elsie Gardiner, Mrs. Elma Adams, all of Vernal; Ernest, Rifle, Colo.; Capt. Elwin Merrell. U. S. Army in Frankfort, Germany; Mrs. Violet Nail. Craig. Colo.; and Mrs. June Shelley, Kansas City, Mo.; 33 grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters:. Funeral services were held in Naples warfl on Monday at 11 a.m. The Merrell family made their home here in Bluebell for several years. They homestead-ed homestead-ed here. They also lived in Upalco. Among those attending the funeral were, Mrs. Mary Lison-bee, Lison-bee, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lison-bee, Lison-bee, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Lison-bee, Lison-bee, Mr. and Mrs. Monte Williams, Wil-liams, Bishop and Mrs. James Bird, Gardner L. Goodrich, Pres. and Mrs. Bernard Winkler, and Mrs. Mary Bird. Loren Goodrich and Melvin Bird, who have spent the past two years in the service, returned re-turned home last week. Loren is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Goodrich and Melvin is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Bird. Mr. and Mrs. LaVon Atwiid went to Salt Lake City during the week. Eloyce Atwood was one who received the award for writing one of the best Christmas pageants. |
