Show Young Family Caught In Flood June Young and family, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Young, were victims of the recent Yuba ' City flood in California. When they learned that the levee was breaking and the town was in danger, June took his family to the home of his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lome Winchester, in Santa Rosa, 40 miles south of San Francisco. When it was possible pos-sible to return to his home in Yuba City, he found that the flood waters had risen to the ceiling of the home' and' their heavy appliances were all saturated satur-ated and damaged. A new TV set was ruined and other valuable possessions were destroyed. Enjoying Christmas dinner with the Carl Anderson family were Mo and Mrs. Bill Clark and family fam-ily of Altonah. and Cliff Clark of Salt Lake City. Dee and Cleo Clark, grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, had New Year's dinner with them here i n Alta-mont. Alta-mont. A New Year's dance for the Moon Lake stake was held at the Mt. Emmons ward Saturday night. The school orchestra furnished the dance music. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peel and family spent Christmas with his folks in Mt. Pleasant.. Janniece' Dastrup was baptized Saturday, Dec. 31, and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sun-Jan. Sun-Jan. 1, in "Fast and Testimony" meeting. Newcomers to the Mt. Emmons ward whom we aU wish to welcome, wel-come, are Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Nielson from Salt Lake. They have moved onto the Elroy Nielson Niel-son farm to operate it this winter. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hansen and family and Mr, and Mrs. Barton Bennion and son went to Richfield Thursday and stayed until Satu-urday. Satu-urday. They went to Payson for New Year's before returning to Mt. Emmons. Christmas guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Young were: Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Day and family of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Young and Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Nielson and family from Bridgeland. |
