Show Colorful Life Of Uinta Artist Ended By Death "Death early Wednesday morning morn-ing ended- a long and colorful life of Erneot Unterman, Sr., who was known throughout the West as "The Artist of the Uintas." The end came in the Vernal Hospital Hos-pital following a brief illness. Mr. Unterman was widely known for his paintings portraying portray-ing prehistoric life and landscapes of the Uinta country. He made a gift of more than 100 paintings, valued at $40,000, to the Vernal Museum. Germany Native He was born Nov. 6, 1864, in Brandenburg Province, Germany, and came to the United States in 1881. He was curator of the Utah Field House of Natural History' at Vernal. He is survived by a son, G. E. Unterman, Vernal. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in St, Paul's Episcopal Church. Friends may call at the Vernal Mortuary Friday Fri-day evening and Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the' Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery. |
