Show Watidns Mis Survey "For HooseveSf ioilding - Local Chamber Of Commerce Has Paved Way A telegram received by the Roosevelt Standard late last week from Sen. Arthur V. Watkins, relayed re-layed the information that he had asked the General Service Administration Admin-istration to survey the need for a new federal post office building for Roosevelt. Sen. Watkins asked the GSA to compare potential rental costs for federal agencies either in or planning plan-ning to locate in Roosevelt, against the expected cost of a new federal building for Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Chamber Project Sen, Watkins was earlier informed in-formed by Floyd W. Labrum, chairman of the Roosevelt Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce, that the present pres-ent leased post office facilities there are inadequate to the needs. He' pointed out that the Soil Conservation Service, the Farmers Farm-ers Home Administration, and the Production and Marketing agencies are located in Roosevelt-Sen. Roosevelt-Sen. Watkins asked GSA to consider con-sider growing demand's for space at Roosevelt and the possibility of a purchase contract arrangement arrange-ment for a building to house all federal offices. |
