Show CLIFF MEMMOTT. Editor e rHE ELECTION IS OVER ; JOX'S RIGHT IN AMERICA .... - The people have spoken and Dwight D. Eisenhower will on become the new president of the greatest nation under . j.j Heavens .... Many hearts were saddened when the i, wa- flashed across the nation that their favorite endidate had been defeated. There were those who feel ': at "this is the end and soon we'll feel an economic de- v P'ess ankfui to my God that millions of Americans have that unabiding faith in themselves and in the great if. :em0Cracy that has stood test after test and always "' merged a wiser and more humble nation .... Faith in God and a humble spirit is the greatest assurance of sur- ii ; vivai that a human can possess. It is, to be hoped that those who for months have 00(j before the American people derailing their opponents i and calling them traitors to the American way of life, will let by-gones be by-gones and roll up their sleeves and help those whom we have elected to lead our nation, state and counties during the next four years, and deliver us out J of the state of confusion and indecision our country has found itself in during the campaign. Never in the history of American politics have candi- dates for office fallen to such low campaigning tactics, ' which all of us regret. ... It grieves us when we hear 1 men we have elevated to lofty positions condemned for their views, or lower themselves to the point where they strike :' below the belt in an attempt to gain support for their can- , didacy. It is this unholy state of affairs that appalls us all, and unless men are big enough to repent of their wrong-doings, it will be they who will drag us down to submission by those foreign "isms" that seek to destroy our way of life. Perhaps if we were to stop for a moment and count the many blessings that are so evident, rather than permit ourselves to think that America is doomed because of the . thinking of some who have been chosen as our leaders in the past, we would find much to be thankful for and life would be joyful and full of promise. When a people unites together for a common cause, and that cause is right before Almighty God, there can be only one road we can. follow, and that is the road to success and happiness. . . : let Us All Unite' For A Great-er Great-er America One That 'Will Survive Every Attempt To Deny Us That American Way Of Life. v E v AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK THEME. "CHILDREN IN TODAY'S WORLD What is a teacher? To a child thrust into a strange world, a good teacher teach-er is the best thing that can possibly happen. A teacher is Courage, with a Kleenex in its pocket; S;mpathy, struggling with a snowsuit; and Patience, with papers to grade. ' Teachers spend 12 hours a day searching for truth and the other 12 hours searching for error. They are incorruptible, indispensable, infallible, invincible, in-vincible, and nearly inexhaustible. A teacher doe? not really mind sniffles, squirmings, stomach aches, spills, sloth and sauciness. Neither does she disintegrate before tears, trifles, fights, futility, ex-cuese, ex-cuese, parents who spout, little boys who shout, and little girls who pout. Most of all a teacher is somebody who likes somebody some-body else's children and still has strength enough left o go to the P-TA meetings. Thank Heaven for teachers.
