She was informed this week that she is one of six students ever to enroll for the course to achieve the highest spePd record re-cord in the quick dictation course given in as short a time devoted to class. Samples of he work will be reprinted in the school magazine. Miss Oldroyd is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Oldroyd, Old-royd, who received the good news Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Norling left Wednesday for their home in Vallejo, Calif., after visiting the past few weeks in Roosevelt. Thev were accompanied as far as Salt Lake City by Mr. and Mrs. Ted Harmston and son, Dick. Dick will go to Valleio with the Norlings and remain until school starts, at which time his parents will drive to California to get him. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harri- son, accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. John Z. Brown, of Salt Lake City, left Monday for a trip to Sun Valley. While gone the George Harrisons will take over the theatre and home duties. Mayor and Mrs. J. V. McLea were in Logan last weekend, where the mayor attended a USAC board meeting. John Swenson left Monday to attend an SCS Irrigation school in Provo. He was accompanied by his family and Mrs. Dwain Buchanan, who planned to visit with relatives. The Swenson family and Kent Memmott spent last Friday night and Saturday at the Miles-. Miles-. Allen cabin in Uinta Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Marc Wilkins left Wednesday for their home in Los Angeles after spending a week in Roosevelt with relatives. rela-tives. Mr. and Mrs. Vean Bair and son, Glen, spent the July 24th weekend in Arizona and the Southern Utah Parks. John Ruppel and James Hall won the tennis doubles in the first tournament series at Vernal Ver-nal last Sunday. Mrs. Frank Mehner and Shana Bellon, of Salt Lake City, spent last weekend at the Xavier Bellon Bel-lon home. Grant and Mont Killian were Salt Lake City visitors Monday. They were accompanied by Marilyn Mar-ilyn Brighton. Mrs. Paul Murphy and children chil-dren and Mrs. Alice Lublin attended at-tended a Lublin reunion held at Saratoga last week. House guests at the Marion Bowman home last week were Dennis Lowery, of Venezuela, South America, and Mrs. Jean-ette Jean-ette Choate and daughter, Tina, of Grand Chain, 111. Mr. Lowery Low-ery is Mrs. Bowman's nephew. Visiting last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fran Harrison was Miss Mae Burton, of Price. Miss Bette Eldredge returned home last Friday after attending attend-ing summer school for five weeks at the University of Washington. Mrs. Harold Eldredge returned return-ed recently after spending a week in Salt Lake City with her daughter, Erma, who leaves soon to fill an LDS mission to France. Mr. Eldredge accompanied De-lores De-lores Hutcheon and ' Glen Eldredge El-dredge through the Logan LDS j Temple when they exchanged ! marriage vows Tuesday of last week. Glen is Mr. Eidredge's nephew. Miss Mary Lois Reichert, home demonstration agent, Mrs. Paul Murphy, Mrs. Lee Ottosen and Mrs. Adaline Anderson, of Talrhage, attended a Fair Judging Judg-ing school at the Federal Building Build-ing in Salt Lake City, Tuesday, sponsored by the USAC. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Murray, of Salt Lake City, have been guests at the home of M-. and Mrs. Clyde Murray during the past week. A fishing trip up Uinta Canyon was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Mitchell and son, Sheldon, of Wenden, Arizona, arrived Sunday to visit vis-it a few days with Mr. Mitchell's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. I and Mrs. Pat Markey. They are former Roosevelt residents, moving mov-ing to Arizona on account of Mr. Mitchell's health, which is somewhat improved. Little Randy Sather, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sather, was rushed to Salt Lake City, Sunday night due to a severe se-vere illness, believed at first to be polio, but necessary tests , proved negative. However, the little fellow is still ill, and no definite diagnosis has yet been reached by the doctors. Visiting at the home of Mrs. Lula Mullins and with other relatives are Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E Mullins and three children, and Mrs. Bonnie Page, of Hawthorne, Haw-thorne, Calif. Joining the group on July 24th for a family get-to-gether were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Mullins, Mul-lins, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Mullins Mul-lins and Mrs. Max Mullins, all of Salt Lake City. |
