Show 38 Promise Floats For UBIC Parade; Will Start 9 a.m. According to Rae Scholes, commander of the Basin Post No. 64, American Legion, who is sponsoring the parade for the first two days of the UBIC, thirty-eight floats have been definitely promised and several others were undecided Tuesday, when he made his report. The line of the parade, which will officially open the three-day three-day convention, will begin at the Elementary School, traveling travel-ing east to Main, north to the Labrum & Adams Motor Co corner, west to the hospital and south to the City Park. Time for the parade will be 9 a.m. on Aug. 5 and 6, Wednesday and Thursday, the latter being Homecoming day. Judging will be done the two days and prizes of $25, $15 and $10 will be given the top three floats. Originality, theme and beauty are the characteristics that will be considered in the judging. Heading the parade will be massed color guards from four American Legion Posts in this area Myton, Ft. Duchesne, Al-tonah Al-tonah and Basin Post (Roosevelt). (Roose-velt). The Auxiliary from Roosevelt Roose-velt will also parade. A special plea and invitation has gotie forth from the committee com-mittee encouraging mass participation parti-cipation in the parade. Those who entered miniature floats in the July 24th parades in the area are especially invited ro enter them in the parade. If sufficient miniature floats are entered, a special section will be set up in the parade. |
