Show Carter Oil Reports Location For New Well Near Duchesne A telegram communication from Carter Oil Co., Denver, Colo., revealed their company, Wednesday morning, began staking for a confirmation test in the county pool in Duchesne County. The announcement was made by George E. Wagnor, who was in the Uintah Basin earlier this week making plans for the new drilling. He is division di-vision manager for Carter's Western Division, with offices in Denver. The new well is to be known as the No. 1 Elner Nielson. This well will be located in the corner cor-ner of SEV4 NWV4 of Section 36, SEVi NW.... in Township 35. Range 5 W, approximately 1 mile south of the diso'cvery well which is currently producing about 200 barrels of oil per day and about 3-8 mile north and west of Townsite of Duchesne. Plans call for testing of Green-river Green-river pay zone found production in the discovery well at a depth interval of from 5123 ft. to 5257 ft. Road building and location leveling contract and well as contract for drilling of the well are expected to be let within a minimum period, and it is anticipated that actual drilling1 operations will be underway in the very near future. This will be the first well Carter has announced for Duchesne" Du-chesne" County since ceasing drilling operations several weeks ago. They announced an- other location in eastern Uintah County last week. Accompanying Mr. Wagnor to the Basin last Monday was Condon Con-don MacKay. Both men were very optimistic about oil activity acti-vity in this area. "We have too much invested here to conceive any thought of pulling out," Mr. MacKay saicL |
