Show Mrs. Ethel Beebe Legion Auxiliary Selects New Officer Slate The American Legion and Auxiliary held their regular meeting May 1st in the Legion hall. They held separate business' busi-ness' meetings and the Auxiliary elected new officers, with Mrs. Beverly Fieldsted as president; Mrs. Mary Dump, 1st vice-president; Mrs. Maxine Clark, 2nd vice-president; Mrs. Thelma Dunsmore, sergeant-at-arms, and Mrs. Lola Jones, chaplain. The honored guests were Ethelyn Burton and mother, Mrs. Leon Burton, of Talmage. Ethelyn has been chosen as the Toyack Post Auxiliary representative for Girls' State. After elections, they joined with the Legion for refreshments. Members present were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Duns-more, Duns-more, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dump, Clyde Lambert and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fieldsted, Mr. and Mrs. Max Allred, of Boneta. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Berrett and daughter, of Rangely, Colorado, spent several days during the week with Mrs. Berrett's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph All-red All-red and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Mitchell are the proud parents of a new baby daughter, born May 6th in the Roosevelt Hospital. Less Orr and Max Hartman, of Mt. Emmons were speakers in Sacrament meeting Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Johnson and daughter, of Lehi, spent Mother's Day weekend with Mrs. Johnson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ralphs. They and Mrs. Vendetta Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Clark were dinner din-ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mar-Ian Mar-Ian Berrett in Bluebell. A number of people from Al-tonah Al-tonah attended the Speech Festival Fes-tival at Mt. Emmons Saturday night. Cleo Clark represented Altonah. Mr. and Mrs. Glade Timothy took their baby son to Salt Lake City, Sunday to have a checkup. check-up. Mary Lois Reichert, home demonstration agent of Roosevelt, Roose-velt, called at the home of Mrs. Ethel Beebe, Thursday. Ronald Powell was able to come home from the Roosevelt Hospital, Wednesday, where he was taken May 2nd. A large number from Altonah Alton-ah attended the funeral of Dr. Philo Farnsworth last Thursday in Salt Lake City. The senior boys of the Altamont High School were pallbearers. Those from Altonah were Jack Carroll, Car-roll, Lowell Leavitt and Garry Jessen. Kenneth Timothy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glade Timothy, was operated on and had his tonsils removed in the Roosevelt hospital, hos-pital, Saturday. Mrs. Harold Fowler spent a week in Salt Lake City with her husband, who is employed there. Mr. Fowler brought his wife home, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Potts and daughters, of Duchesne, and Ted Snyder, of Tooele, spent the Mother's Day weekend with their mother, Mrs. Elva Snyder. Willard Dump, who has been working in Colorado, arrived recently to visit his brother, Leon Dump, and family. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Call, of Arcadia, spent Sunday with their daughters, Mrs. Dewey Jessen and Mrs. Reay Jessen and families. They were Sacrament Sacra-ment visitors when their grandchildren grand-children were blessed. Mrs; George Carroll spent several days during the week visiting her sister, Mrs. Ruth Jensen, of Moroni. Mrs. Jensen returned home with her to stay with her mother, Mrs. Mary Swasey, of Boneta, who is very ill. |
