Show I FaniiersCo-qTo Preseirf CaSfl AfFFA'j&GcItSboi? i Some high school youngster1 will be made happy on Friday' during the annual Altamont High School Future Farmers Livestock Show, when the Uintah Uin-tah Farmers Union Cooperative association of Roosevelt will present a pure-bred Hereford' calf. This is an annual project for the local Co-op. According to Tal Wardle and Max Gardner, managers for the service station and mill divisions, divi-sions, who' are jointly sponsoring sponsor-ing the project, the calf, a yearling year-ling heifer, was purchased from; the Jerry Merkley herd at Du-' chesne at the price of $200. It; has been, registered and the winner Friday will receive papers pa-pers along with the calf. It has been registered as Delia Dha. The award will be made by the managers of the Co-ops. ' Some member of the Altamont Alta-mont Ag class who has achieved . top ranking in the activities for the past year, and who has been ' recommended by the instructor, Elwood Foote, will receive the prize Hereford.' This is the second sec-ond consecutive year this has been done, the calf being won by Ray Oman of Boneta last year. Always a popular spring stock show, the Altamont program pro-gram will begin at 1 p.m. when the showing and judging will commence. Those showing stock are instructed' to bring their animals an-imals in from 9 a.m. to noon so that proper registrations can be made and everything put in readiness for the 1 o'clock : show. , - |
