Show Parties Honor Mr. & Mrs. George Walkup In recognition of his thirty-five thirty-five years of faithful work in the U. S. Forest Service, George Walkup was honored at a ban-: quet given at the Gateway CafeJ in Vernal on April 30 by personnel per-sonnel of the Ashley Forest and some members of the Regional Forest Office in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Walkup were presented with a chrome, plastic top table from the group. Mr. Walkup was presented with a large certificate of recognition re-cognition by Regional Forester C. J. Olsen, who also read the wording on two merit cards received by Mr. Walkup for his excellent safety record. Approximately fifty guests were present at the party, in cluding Regional Forester Olsen, Ol-sen, and assistant, Lowell Farmer; Farm-er; Mr. and Mrs. Max Cluff, Senator and Mrs. B. H. String-ham, String-ham, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Felch, former supervisors of the Ashley Forest; Earl C. San-ford San-ford and Chas. DeMoisy, Jr., both retired; Grace Findlay, of the Bureau of Land Management; Manage-ment; most of the forest personnel, per-sonnel, and many members of the Walkup family and friends. Later in the evening part of the group attended a dance and party at Lapoint, sponsored by the Mosby Mountain cattlemen, who presented the compliment- j ed couple with an electric clock. |
