Show Randlett By Mrs. Viola Jensen Avalon P-TA Has New President The Avalon P-TA meeting was held Thursday evening at the Avalon School house. Attractive At-tractive demonstrations were shown in all the rooms. The students presented a very entertaining en-tertaining program. Edgar Jensen Jen-sen was elected president of the Avalon P-TA for the coming year. President Marion Taylor conducted the meeting. Delicious Deli-cious refreshments were served by the teachers and P-TA officers. offi-cers. A special film was shown Monday at the Avalon School by the school nurse, Helen Stevens. Ste-vens. Mrs. Sadie Peay presented the Theology lesson Tuesday at Relief Re-lief Society. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Jensen spent Wednesday visiting in Vernal at the homes of Mrs. Lucy Jensen and Mrs. Carol Lewis. Mrs. Marion Taylor and baby son spent the weekend visiting at the home of her parents. The two' upper rooms of the Avalon school went to Salt Lake City, Friday. They visited the following places: the Zoo, the State Capitol Building, Liberty , Park, Bingham Canyon and the Copper mines. Geneva Steel Plant, the BYU campus. They enjoyed en-joyed the scenery in Prove Canyon. Can-yon. Teachers going were Principal Prin-cipal Jesse Hullinger and Mrs. Ellen Rawlings. Ivan Rogers drove the bus and Mrs. Hzel Wardle and Myril Moore accompanied accom-panied the group. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Stevens, of Salt Lake City, visited Sunday Sun-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Brough are the proud parents of a baby boy, born May 7th at the Uintah Uin-tah Basin Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon J. Lewis Lew-is and family, of Vernal, spent Mother's day visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen. Jen-sen. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse S. Brough, of Roosevelt, were visitors at Sunday School and Sacrament meeting, Sunday. |
