Show Proclamation WHEREAS Wednesday, August Aug-ust 1, 1945, is the Thirty-Eighth Anniversary of the founding of Military Aviation in the United States; AND WHEREAS, America's air power has been and is spearheading spear-heading the successful assault of free men against tyranny everywhere; every-where; AND WHEREAS citizens and industries of Los Angeles are playing a part renowned throughout the world in designing, design-ing, building and supplying the sinews of America's air power; NOW, THEREFORE, I George H. Harrison, Mayor of Roosevelt City, do proclaim in honor of the men who are winning victory in the skies, and that suitable ceremonies cere-monies be conducted to commemorate' com-memorate' their contribution to world security and peace. I further fur-ther urge that all men and women wo-men engaged in the production of our air power be particularly diligent in pursuing their vital tasks. And I also urge that America's Am-erica's airmen, especially those who have given their lives, be remembered prayerfully from the pulpits of our churches on Sunday, July 29th preceding Air i Force Day. |
