Show PERSONALS and SOCIETY Mr. and Mrs. Alma Collins of Salt Lake City were visiting friends and relatives in Roosevelt Roos-evelt over the week end. Harold Eldredge, superintendent superintend-ent of the Roosevelt hospital is again at his post of duty after an illness of several weeks Manager Floyd Roberts of the local Safeway store with his family, are spending a few days vacation in Uintah canyon. , Mrs. Marrel F. Wilkins return ed Sunday from California where she spent a few weeks visiting. Mrs. Owen McDonald and three children of Heber visited friends and relatives here the past week. They returned to their home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Driver E. Smith and small daughter of Murray visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken last Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Birtcher and family of Magna, spent the past week 'with Mr. Birtcher's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Birtcher. Pari Gurr of Vernal and Mrs. George Gurr and three daughters daugh-ters were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Ilyrum Gurr in Haydcn. Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Ketchum and sons, Bud and Georgia were guests at the Hyrum Gurr home in Haydcn. Karl Shisler, who has been attending at-tending the University of Southern South-ern California the past year, is home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Shisler for the summer sum-mer months, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Collins of Salt Lake City are visiting at the home of Mrs. Collin's mother, Mrs. G. F. Fredrickson. They are being entertained by their friends and relatives this week. Mrs. Nellie J. Evans of San Francisco, California arrived in Roosevelt Thursday of last week on an extended visit. She is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Annie Jor-gensen. Jor-gensen. Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Gardner and three daughters of Bingham are visiting relatives and friends for a few days. The Gardners are formerly of Alterra. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Rawlings and children attended the rodeo in Price last week end. While there they were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Woodruff of Dragerton, Utah. Mrs. DeVoe Lambert and sister. Miss Corrine Garret of Nephi spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lambert. DeVoe is stationed with the Air Corp somewhere in the Philippine-Islands. Miss Mary White of Logan "who graduated from the Utah Agricultural College last spring was a guest of Miss Mary Dill-man, Dill-man, a classmate, at the Dillman home and at the Dillman cabin in the Uintahs last week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham received word that their son, Melvin, who lias been with his wife at Long Beach, California, while his ship was receiving repairs, re-pairs, he has been in five invasions: Siapan, Leytc, Luzon, Tainin and Okinawa. Mr. and Mrs. -Wm. J. Ostler Sr. and sons, Reed and Dee and , Mr. and Mrs. Josh Timothy and family returned home Wednesday Wednes-day from Ogden, where they spent the 24th with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ostler. Wayne is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Ostler and a brother of Mrs. Timothy. Postmaster J. A. Pack spent av few days in Ogden visiting Mr. and Mrs. Erschel E. Shepherd who are the proud parents of a new baby. He also visited with his daughters, Maude Wahlquist of Ogden and Ardis Barnes of Salt Lake City, returning home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McGill are the proud parents of a baby boy, born Monday, July 23 at the Roosevelt hospital. Mrs. McGill is the former Miss Theodora Pul-os, Pul-os, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Pulos. Mr. McGill is in the U S Army and has been here with his wife the past week. He will leave soon for his base at Chorvis, New Mexico. Mrs. Lynn Campbell and two sons left Tuesday morning for their home in Richmond, California. Calif-ornia. She will visit her sister and family, Mrs. Elton Kettle in Salt Lake. Rheo Bracken accompanied accom-panied her to Salt Lake where she will be employed at the Brockbank Apparel Co. Ladies' Fish and Game Club The local club met at the home of Mrs. Tina Wilkins with Mrs. Erma Jensen in charge of the arrangements. The president, Mrs. Parley Rawlings presided over the business meeting, after which a delicious luncheon was served to 28 guests and members present. Games were played in the beautiful back yard at the Wilkins home. Local Lions Entertain Ladies Thursday evening the Roosevelt Roose-velt Lions club entertained their wives at their annual Ladies' night at the Uintah Power and Light company grounds in the Uintah canyon; the general committee com-mittee consisted of E. J. Nixon, president; Dick Scholes, Bennie Schmiett and Harry Sprouse. Base ball was enjoyed by those present. Miss Erna Larsen played play-ed her accordian for the entertainment enter-tainment of the guests. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Scholes and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dillman, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Morrison, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Dr. and Mrs. R. Q. Warnock, Mr. and Mrs. Vean Bair, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Nixon; Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Marchanf-Findlay Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. C. Marchant of Ioka announce the marriage of their daughter, Linnie to Corporal Ross P. Find-lay. Find-lay. The wedding took place in the Salt Lake Temple on July 11, with Elder Nicholas G. Smith officiating. of-ficiating. Following the ceremony ceremo-ny the couple were honored with an exclusive dinner in the Coral Room of Hotel Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Parents of the bride and groom and a few close friends were in attendance. Corporal Findlay is the son of Bishop and Mrs. Hugh W. Findlay of Smoot, Wyoming. Prior to entering the Armed Forces he served as a missionary for the L D S church in the California Calif-ornia Mission. He has recently returned from the European Theater of Operations where he served with the Ninth Army. Mrs. Findlay is a graduate of the Roosevelt high . school and has attended the Brigham Young University, the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural College and the LDS Business College. She is now employed at Fort Douglas, Utah where she has worked for the past 3 years. The young couple returned to Salt Lake City Monday after visiting for a few days with the bride's parents. Jensen-McClellan Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jensen, Sr. announce the marriage of their daughter, Thora to Kenneth R. McClellan, son of Mr. and Mrs. John McClellan of Myton. The young couple coup-le plan on leaving Saturday for Long Beach and Kenneth will report re-port for duty with the U S Navy at San Pedro, California where his ship is being repaired. He has been serving overseas the past eight months and had a 20-day leave. , I Friday Bridge Club I Mrs. Hazel Ashton was hostess to the members of the Friday Bridge club at her home Friday, July 20th. A very delicious desert de-sert luncheon was served to the following members: Ann Warnock, Warn-ock, Billy Bair. Celebrates Birthday Linda Lou Schmiett was the guest of honor at a birthday party at her home Sunday afternoon, after-noon, the occassion being her third birthday . anniversary. A very delicious luncheon was served to the guests between the hours of two to four at the home of the bride's parents. Bridge Party A lovely bridge party was given giv-en at the home of Mrs. Rella Fieldsted Thursday evening, honoring hon-oring Mrs. Owen McDonald of Heber City. Bridgelte Club Mrs. Louis Corbridge entertained enter-tained the members of the Bridg-ette Bridg-ette club at her home Thursday evening. A lovely luncheon was served after which tables were arranged for bridge. Entertain New Club Officers Miss Bcrniece Palfreyman, the president of the Roosevelt Business Busi-ness and Professional Women's club entertained the new officers of-ficers of the club for the ensuing year, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Snow at a delicious dinner Tuesday evening. Plans for the coming year were formulated; form-ulated; those present were Mrs. Nell Wilkins, vice president; Florence Marimon, secretary; Blanche Murphy, treasurer. Just A Mere Club Mrs, Tina Wilkins was hostess to the members of the Just a Mere club this week. A lovely luncheon was served in the garden by the fire place. Those present were: Florence Adams, LaVoyle Weiss, Dorothy Walker, Marion Huxford, Dora Larsen, Reva Owen, Lola Richens, Faye White, Gladys Zimmerman, Er-;ma Er-;ma Jensen and Lora Killian.
