Show leslbe mm & sons ERCATSLE ES7ABL9SHSV3ENT H0DELED in ROOSEUELT Uintah Basin's Largest General Mercantile Company Increases Carrying Capacity During the past two months a" large crew )2 carpenters, cabinet makers and day laborers have been at work on the extensive remodeling of the Leslie Ashton and Sons store in Roosevelt which without a question of a doubt gives Roosevelt the largest larg-est general merchandising establishments es-tablishments in the entire Basin. Makes Complete Change Over According to manager, Clair Ashton, they have not entirely completed the changeover especially es-pecially in the grocery and meat department, however, this work will proceed in the near future. Changes Made In the first place the lumber yard which occupied the south lias been transferred to the new section of the main building, has lumber yards constructed in the rear of the building and in this section they have made a modern mod-ern Hardware department, taking tak-ing a floor space 42 by 25 feet, with part of it to be used for home electrical appliances. The Hardware department has been equipped with modern shelves and sales tables and lighted by flourcsgnt lights. The center section of the build-which build-which formerly housed the grocery, gro-cery, meat and hardware, has now been modeled into an exclusive ex-clusive grocery and meat department, depart-ment, this department will also be redecorated and supplied with flourescnt lights. The Ashton store is one of the oldest stores in Roosevelt, opening open-ing its doors for business on the 25th day of April, 1913, a little over thirty-two years ago, and according to Mr. Ashton its new improvement shows the company's com-pany's faith in the city and its trade territory. |
