Rudy of Oram, Utah and Mrs. Ira Bcidcn and daughter, Juno of Ohio, visited this week with Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Winfred Long and family. Mr. "and Mrs. Rudy arc parents of Mrs. Long and Mrs. Belden is a sister. They returned to their homes Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Burns McKowen gave a chicken dinner at their home Saturday in honor of their son, Ted and his friends. The honored guests were Pfc. Ted McKowen, Sgt, Willard Ethrege, Pfc. Dee L. Peterson of Heber and Miss Fern Hansen and Miss Betty Sweat both of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Carl Hall returned home Friday night from Salt Lake City and reports her daughter feeling fine and is at the Children's hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pope and children and Mrs. M. E. Sey-more Sey-more and baby left Thursday for Salt Lake City to visit at Mr. Pope's parents and will leave Saturday for their home in Glen-dale, Glen-dale, California, They have spent the past ten days at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hartle. Sgt. Gerald Bolton and brother, broth-er, Arthur left Saturday for Og-den Og-den and will visit their sisters, Delia, Lola and their sister, Marie andfamily, Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Thompson and their relatives rela-tives in Salt Lake City. Sgt. Bolton has just returned from 2Vi years overseas. Sunday, September 16, the Memorial Services for Orvid Russell will be held at the Bennett Ben-nett church house at 12:30 p. m. Francis Horrocks and two i children returned home from Salt Lake City Friday night. Mrs. M. E, Hamaker was happily surprised when her son. Orren and wife and baby came home Friday night, he has just returned from overseas where he has been for nearly 3 years. Mrs. Doris Haslem and Mrs. Mabel Betts visited Friday evening even-ing at the Brighton home with Mrs. Albert Saari of California. They were former residents of Bennett. Marion Mitchell and son, Le-land Le-land had the misfortune to get tomoine poison from meat. They are employed at the mine, but have been confined to their bed since last Friday. Medical help was called. They arc on the improve. im-prove. Miss Elna Hartle gave a party at her home Wednesday night in honor of her sister, Vilate who was home on a visit and also some of her friends. A chicken plate lunch and ice cream were served by her mother, Mrs. Ada-line Ada-line Hartle, Those present were Ray, Wayne, Marie, Joice and Lynn Haslem, Byron Horrocks, Byron, Arthur and Sgt. Gerold Bolton, Velois Long, Mary Norton Nor-ton of Lapoint, Vilate Seymore, of Glendalc, California, Pfc. Ted McKowen. Phillip McKowen, Mildred Morgan, Betty Sweat, and Sgt. Willard Etheredge. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Belts and children of Springville spent the week with her sister, Mrs. Clair Haslem and family.. Mrs. Amon Workman was rushed to the hospital at Roosevelt Roos-evelt Saturday. She had an attack at-tack of gal stones. She was some improved Sunday. I Mrs. Merlin Warner and her sister, Ora were visitors at Tooele To-oele last week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hartle entertained en-tertained at a Bonfire supper Wednesday night near their home. Their children, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pope and children and Mrs. M. E.
