Show City Council Organizes Airport Committee Represenialives from all Civic Clubs Meet With City Dads On Airport Development For some time fcthe city has had, what is known as an an airport committee, and also an airport manager, but are now faced with a financial problem in raising enough money to build an airport hanger. It was decided among those present that there should be an executive execu-tive committee appointed in order or-der to work on plans for the financing of the much needed hanger, which must be built before be-fore we can get an instructor to move into Roosevelt. Committee Appointed Executive airport committee appointed to take over and build the hanger are: Jack Zimmerman, Zimmer-man, representing the city and Roosevelt Commercial club; Paul Wilkins, Lions club; Ray Tuttle, American Legion; B e n n i e Schmiett, CAP and Bob Ferron, JJC's. Jack Zimmerman was appointed ap-pointed temporary chairman and after the committee's meeting, Ray Tuttle was selected as permanent per-manent chairman, with Paul Wilkins as secretary-treasurer. The airport manager Cliff Angus, An-gus, will work along with the committee. Hanger Plan A blueprint for the proposed hanger is in the hands of the committee. It is understood the building will be built of cinder blocks and will be 60x60 overall over-all in size, it will accommodate seven planes. The committee has already secured a good starting fund, and will ask for assistance from all civic clubs. Work on this project should start within the next two weeks, says chairman Tuttle. |
