An item in the August 9th issue of the Salt Lake Tribune should prove of much interest to the many friends of James Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dar-! Dar-! rell Dean. The item announced , the opening of the Nibley Park ! Theater on August 29th and the j portion of interest to Myton res-i res-i idents read: "Costumer and art I director is Jimmy Dean, current-. current-. ly fashion costumer in a Salt i Lake City department store. He 1 is designing the sets." Mr. Dean I is making rapid progress in his Iwork, being assistant display manager and fashion consultant at Keith O'Brien's and also acting act-ing as art and fashion director at Whipple's Ladies' Store Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Potter are enjoying a visit from Mrs. Potter's Pot-ter's niece, Mrs. Josephine Burn- side, who arrived Saturday from Wichita, Kansas. Mrs. Burnside is professor of English in the Wichita College. Miss Betty Wells, who has been visiting at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. R. Harris, left Saturday for her home in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Thompson, of Randolph, Arizona, spent Saturday Sat-urday in Myton, visiting with their many old friends. They, made their home in Myton for several years while Mr. Thompson Thomp-son was employed as a dragline drag-line operator in the Indian Irrigation Irri-gation service. They left here in 1937 to make their home in Arizona. Ari-zona. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Lewis, of Salt Lake City, are1 visiting at the homes of their daughters, Mrs. Wesley Jenson and Mrs. Haydon Cooper. Like all former residents of Myton, they enjoy returning to the old home town. A nice new coat of white paint has wrought a great change in the Myton ward chapel-With the green expanse of lawn and the shrubs, which have grown so rapidly since the grounds were landscaped in the spring, the building seems to have also grown and is a nice improvement improve-ment in the town. Much credit is due the loyal members who worked diligently on the paint job, on laying the new cement walks and tending the newly lanted lawns and shrubs. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stone enjoyed a brief visit with hem Saturday when they came from Salem to spend a day in Myton and vicinity. Mr. Stone was bishop of the Myton ward before leaving to reside at Salem ind his wife was an active member mem-ber of the L.D.S. church, during the years they made their home here. Mrs. Harvey Partridge entertained enter-tained Tuesday afternoon for her small "grandson, Jerry Leavitt. honoring his 4th birthday anniversary. anni-versary. A happy group of little friends enjoyed games and de licious refreshments, which Included In-cluded a luscious big birthday |
