Show The American Legion Post of this city has been working very hard to make the Armistice Day celebration to be held In this city November 12th. a success. An elk barbecue had been planned but was found impossible to put over after being turned down by the state for their application to kill 2 elk The football game which we hoped to see played between Wasatch and North Sanpete also went aginst us, for some reason the one school could not play on i that date. But in spite of these two dis 'appointments we are going to try our I best to make a big day of it. The , Lion's Club and the city are co-operating with us and the Legion appreciate.! this very much. The City has built, with the support of the Lion's Club, a splendid flood dam above the city and a part of the day's program will be an excursion to that excellent project In the afternoon, details of which will be announced later. We hope every citi-fzen citi-fzen will take this opportunity of visit-jing visit-jing the flood dam and see the resultc ;of the City council's splendid efforts. I A parade is scheduled for 9 o'clock 'Monday morning which will represent ! different civic organizations of this city. After the parade the following program will be given at the North Ward Chapel, commencing at ten o' clock: Song "Star Spangled Banner" congregation. con-gregation. Invocation Eishop Henry P. Olsen Adjutants roll call Cornet solo Mr. Morrison Allred. Pleading Aria Simpson. One minute silent tribute at 11 o' clock. Address Hon. Charles R. Mabey. Song "America" congregation. Benediction Bishop A. L. Petersen A free children's dance will be given by the American Legion at the Armory Hall at 3 P. M. A picture show and dance sponsored by the American Legion will conclude the day's program. Everbody forget your labors on this great day, the 10th anniversary of the closing of the World War. Come out and celebrate with the men who made it possible for World Peace, the members mem-bers of the American Legion. |
