Mr. nnd Mrs. Hnns Madsen announce the birth of a grandson at their home November 5th. The mother, Mrs. Jessie Jes-sie P. Combs was formerly Miss Rand.i Mndsen. Mr. Coombs died at Salt Lake City nbout one month ago. Mr. nnd Mrs. N. B. Pritchett spoilt the past ten days visiting their sons T. L. and J. F. Pritchett at Standard-ville. Standard-ville. Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson lett here last week for Arizona where they expect to spend the winter with their children. Miss Ila Miner and Glen B. Miner spent the past week with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. U. Miner. The following officers were elected at the Parent Teachers meeting Thursday evening: Hilden Tucker, President; Mrs. Elis Combs, Vice-Pres ident; Otis Neilsen, Secretary Treasurer; Treas-urer; Mrs. Anna Vance, Merlin Madson and Marion Tucker as executive board. Metings will be held the first Thursday in each month during the school year. Post Chaplain, Tillman Graham; Sargant at Arms. Colemen Pritchett. They are arranging a celebration cele-bration and program for Armistice day. The new street lamps that will form the "White Way" on Main Street will be seen for the first time at this celebration. cele-bration. A barbeque is also expected. The Fairview High School student body gave a Haloween party at the gym Friday evening. Spook land and spook boths caused much merriment. The decorations were very pretty. Games, music refreshments and dancing were enjoyed by about two hundred guests. Educaion week has been fittingly observed ob-served by the public and schools here this week. A number of good programs have been given. The closing program will be given Sunday evening in"- the North Ward Chapel. The folowing program will be given: Community singing Prayer Maitland Graham. Mr and Mrs. Oscar Norman and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Norman were called to Salt Lake last week on account of the death of Mr. Normans' mother, Mrs. E. A. Norman. Mrs. E. A. orman died at her home m Salt Lake City, Sunday October 28. She was 88 years old, was a native of Sweden, but came to Utah when she was a young woman. She lived at Mt Pleasant for many years, but after her children married she moved to Salt Lake City where she resided for more than twenty-five years. She leaves the following children: Mrs. Lydia Burton Bur-ton Mt. Pleasant, Oscar and Albert Norman of Fairview, Mrs. Gertrude Waterfall and Mrs. Hulda Gessel of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Fanny Knight ol Idaho, also a number of grand children and great-grand children survive. Funeral services were held in Salt Lake City Thursday. |
