Show Mrs. Niels Christensen Dies After Long Illness Mrs. Melvina Johansen Christensen, Christen-sen, wife of Niels Christensen, died at the family residence, Monday morning, following a long . illness brought on by a stroke. She was bom in this city, November No-vember 12, 1863, daughter of Niels and Annie Anderson Johansen. She was married to Niels Christensen Chris-tensen in this city, January 2, 1887. She was the mother of five children, chil-dren, three having preceded her to the grave. She was an active and faithful Relief Society worker, a devoted mother and friend. Surviving are her husband and two children, N. LeRoy Christensen Christen-sen and Mrs. Verda Fillis, also six grandchildren, all of this city, and the following brothers and sisters: Andrew Johansen and Mrs. William Oman, Boneta, Utah; Kimball Johansen, Jo-hansen, Delta; Moroni Johansen, Spring City; Wilford Johansen and Mrs. Louis W. Jensen, Mount Pleasant. A brother Joseph Johansen Sr.. died six weeks ago. Funeral services were held from the South ward chapel Thursday at 2 p. m. with Bishop A. L. Peterson Pe-terson in charge. The speakers were L. C. Rasmussen, Ras-mussen, Mrs. C. W. Sorenson and Lee Allred of Spring City. Prayers were offered by Bishop James Larsen and Christian Johansen. Johan-sen. Music was by the choir with special spe-cial numbers as follows: vocal solo, Tired," Mrs. H. G. Ericksen; vocal duet, 'Jesus Lover of My Soul," Emil' Hasler and Mrs. Clayton Sor-ensen; Sor-ensen; vocal duet, "Face to Face," Mrs. Glenus Scovil and Miss Pearl Larsen. J. Fred Staker dedicated the grave. |
