John Snow announces the nuir-naso nuir-naso of his daughter, Leah to Joseph Jo-seph Dyches of Moroni on July 29 Everyone wishes them success and happiness in their married life. Members of the Gloomhusters Club n et at the home of Mis Joseph R. Christiansen, at a birthday birth-day party on July 21st, honoring Mrs. Christiansen and Mrs. Milton Oldroyd. The honor guests wew presented with beauwrir. gucs. A pleasant afternoon was spent. Delicious De-licious refreshments were served. Edna Guymon is spending a few days visiting in Salt Lake Citv with Mrs. Emma A. Nash and family. On the morning of August 1st, which was parents' visiting day, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rasmussen and Mrs. Lyda Guymon went to Salt Lake to attend the special exercises ex-ercises at the C. M. T. C. camp at Fort Douglas, where their sons, Ken D. and John Kay have beeii for the past month. Commencing with a track and field meet at the stadium of the U. of U. and an address ad-dress by Mayor John F. Bowman the program ended and the large crowd went up to Fort Douglas, where the boys paraded to the beautiful beau-tiful music of the 38th Infantry-band. Infantry-band. It was a most inspiring sight and everyone present was thrilled with the accompusnments of the boys in the month's training During the time the Fountain Green boys have been in camp they have both received medals for good marksmanship in rifle shooting, shoot-ing, and Ken was also awarded a pair of field glasses. They received receiv-ed their certificates for this summer's sum-mer's training and will most probably prob-ably return next summer to take up the 2nd year course. On August " 3rd, Max, the throe and one-half year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Johnson passed away at a Provo hospital, where he had been taken last week for treatment. Funeral services were held here Wednsday, August 6th. He is survived by his parents, a brother Evertt and sister Cherel. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Edler have just returned from a two weeks stay on the mountain. A Meeting of the Home Economics Econ-omics Club was held August 1st at R. S. Hall. A saxophone solo was played by Miss Rozella Anderson and a reading was given by Miss Mildred Allred, after which gair.es were played and refreshments were served. The visiting teachers of the Relief Re-lief Society will be entertained by speceial and executive officers at an open air social on Monday, August Aug-ust 11th at the orchard, north of Frank Samuels' home. Refreshments Refresh-ments will be served and a splendid program has been arranged. Mr. and Mrs. Evertt Draper have just returned from Mirror Lake, Idaho, where they have spent the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Seager went to Tremonton on August 2nd, where they will spend their two weeks vacation. va-cation. The Wool City band of Fountain Foun-tain Green has been invited to play in the big Black Hawk parade at Lehi on August 13th, and they will be given an important place in the lineup of the parade. Mr. Leo Hansen of Lehi, chairman chair-man in charge of the parade, visited vis-ited the "Wool City" on Tuesday and expressed his pleasure at being be-ing able to book the band. Daily rehearsels and drills are be ing held to put on the finishing touches. This is the one and only mounted band in the state and one of the few in the nation. |
