Show f , FAIRVIEW I By Special Correspondence i Miss Pearl Jensen entertained the S S. H. club at her home, Wednc-s- day, August Gth, in honor of her birthday anniversary. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served and an enjoyaole afternoon was spent by ten guests. Mr. David G. Thomas of Salt ! Lake City, was a weekend guest of ' Miss Ila Miner. MI', and Mrs. Harold Ashman have been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. U. Miner. The mothers' and daughters' annual an-nual outing of the Fairview South ward will be held Tuesday, August li)th at Easten Clement's orchard, near Cottonwood Canycu. They plan to meet at the South ward chapel at 12:30 where transportation transporta-tion will be turnished. The following fol-lowing program will be given: group singing; solo, Mrs. Ellis Wilcox; musical selection, Mrs. Jessie Sund-wall Sund-wall and company; reading, Fawn Larsen, tribute to mothers, Glenda Rigby; tribute to aaugiuers, Mrs. A. U. Miner; vocal duet, Mrs. Roxy Peterson and Mrs. R. Turpin; song. Pearl Jensen: duet, Mrs. Luella and Violet Johnson; vocal solo, Ruoy Nordstrom; duet, Leah Madsen and Randa' Coombs; retold story, Hor-tense Hor-tense Stewart. Luncheon, games and stunts will follow the program. Mr and Mrs. Ernest L. Miner Jr. recently married- in Salt Lake City, have spent the past two weeks in Bryce and Zion Canyons. On their return trip they visited relatives at Fairview. Mrs. Miner was formerly form-erly Miss Wilhelmina Sharpe of Salt Lake City The following people from Fair-view Fair-view attended the poultry tour at Ephraim and Manti, July 31st; Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Mower, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Bench, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Pe terson, Mi', and Mrs. Merlin Madsen, Mad-sen, Mr. and Mrs. A. U. Miner, Mrs. E. A. Day Sr., Mrs. Ellis Coombs, Arthur Day, Alvin Day, Reed Peterson, Pe-terson, Lawrence Allred, Mrs. Sarah Sar-ah B. Peterson, Mrs. Caroline Madsen, Mad-sen, Mrs. Orsen Miner, Mrs. Merle Jensen. Mrs. Hans Madsen announces the engagement of her daughter Leah to Leland Nielson, son of Bishop and Mrs. Peter Nielson of Fairview. The marriage will take place in the Salt Lake Temple, August 20th. Both young people are graduates of North Sanpete High School. Miss Madsen is also a graduate of Snow College, and has taught in the public school for the past two years. Mr. Nielson is a former student of the B. Y. U. and taught school at Indianola the past year. They will make their home at Indianola the coming winter. |
