Gordon Larsen and Bernuce Hardy left Saturday for McOill, Nevada, where they have employment. Mr. and Mrs. George Q. Brother-son Brother-son and Mrs. Lees Syme of Garfield are visiting relatives and friends in Moroni. Mr. and Mrs. Eldred' Curtis, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Olsen of Magna, and Mr. and Mrs. Truman Curtis of Salt Lake City spent the weexend in Moroni. Mor-oni. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Blackham, Misses Lucille and Gwendolyn Black-ham, Black-ham, and Mr. and Mrs. Ordell Black- I ham are spending the week at Fish Lake. ; Mrs. Earl Canoon was operated on for appendicitis at the Dice hospital Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Nelson announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter Winnie to Mr. Francis Rasmussen of Fairview. The marriage took place at' Richfield, August 12, 1929. The young couple will make their home at Fairview. U. S. forest service engineer will arrive to start preliminary survey and work on the Maple Canyon road about September 1st. Definite information in-formation has been written to Ernest It. Anderson of Moroni, chairman of the Maple Canyon development committee com-mittee by the forest service officials. Actual construction will be commenced commenc-ed as soon as possible after the survey sur-vey is completed. Mrs. Cloyde Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jensen and Mr. George Jensen Jen-sen went to Salt Lake City last week to attend the funeral of a relative. Relief Society Stake conference of the Moroni Stake was held Sunday, August 18. Oenerai Relief Society President Louise Y. Robinson of Salt Lake City was the principal speaker. The first session was held in the West Ward Relief Society chapel with Stake President Anna S. Blackham presiding. pre-siding. Opening prayer was by President Helena Olsen of the Moroni West ward; vocal fuet "A Mother's Plea," Mrs. Elmo Irons and Mrs. Arch Christensen; Chris-tensen; Mrs. Gene Despain of the Stake Board gave a talk on "Tire Health cf Our Children;" general president Louise Y. Robinson gave a talk on "Social Service." Singing, "Improve tne Shining Moments;' prayer, President Tena Gee of the Moroni East ward. The afternoon session was held in the East ward chapel with President Anna S. Blackham presiding. Singing was furnished by the Relief Society East and West ward choirs of Moroni. Opening song "Have I Done Any Good in the World Today?" Prayer Orlando Bradley. Singing "Catch the Sunshine." Vocal solo, "Teach Me to Pray," Mrs Ernest Anderson. Mrs. N. P. Sorensen gave talk on, "What is your community doing for the recreation and employment of your young people?" Srnrt talks were given by Stake p.-esident Lewis Nielsen and Mrs. L. Christensen, Relief Society president of the North Sanpete Stake. Vocal duet, "Cast Thy Bread Upon the Water," Wat-er," Mrs. Frank Johnson and Mrs. Charles Coombs of Fountain Green. Talk and Instructions by President Louise Y. Robinson. Pres. Nielsen gave notice that the Moroni stake would hold their stake conference September 7th and 8th in the Moroni west ward chapel.
