Show Chamberlain Lands Elsleben, Saxony Berlin The Bellanca plane Columbia Colum-bia made a forced landing at Eisleben, about 116 miles southeast of Berlin. ( The machine was in perfect order. The landing was attributed to fuel shortage, short-age, or Chamberlin losing his way. The Columbia was refueled and started on its way, to Berlin, where it was expected ex-pected to arrive within an hour after leaving. When it became know here that Columbia had landed at Eislebeu and had started for Berlin, the American Amer-ican ambassador, Jacob Gould Scbur-man, Scbur-man, who had gone home, was notified, and it was expected he would beturn to the airdrome. The authorities recalled re-called the police reserves, which had been withdrawn. |
