Show Nation Ready to Honor Lindbergh Washington Charles A. Lindbergh is to receive a welcome and reception In Washington such as has been accorded ac-corded to no other private citizen in the history of the republic. This was determined upon by the semi-official entertainment committee after it had been informed that the scout crusier Memphis would arrive at the navy yard here at noon on Saturday, June 11, bearing from Europe the flying hero of the world and the airplane in which he flew from New York to Paris. The official welcome to the eagle of the air will begin before he sights his native 6hores. And, fittingly enough, it will be other eagles of the air army and navy aviators who will extend ex-tend the first greeting. Two dozen of them in as many planes will fly to sea to escort the Memphis to the Virginia Vir-ginia capes. |
