Show MORONI. On Wednesday the Sunday School held its annual May Day celebration. At 8:30 o'clock the High School band serenaded the town and at 10:30 the following short program was rendered render-ed at the Tabernacle: Speech of Welcome, Wel-come, P. J. Peterson; Ladies' Quartet; Quar-tet; Crowning of the Queen; Girls' Chorus, "Up Arize;" Piano Solo, Grace Sorensen; Reading, Jamima Johansen; Violin solo, Ardell Black--ham. Miss Alida Jensen was the dainty queen of the day, with the Misses Hannah Anuerson and Nida Simpson as attendants. The children enjoyed a dance at two o'clock. The town and II. S. teams played baseball base-ball at four o'clock, and everybody joined in treading a few measures at the Pavilion in the evening. On Monday evening the Senior Class of the High School entertained at a banquet in honor of Miss Conley, who leaves the school this year. The High School Commencement exercises will be held this Friday evening. A dance will follow the meeting. Last Monday, Mrs. W. W. Crawford entertained at an informal afternoon party in honor of her daughter, Mrs Frank Hougaard, of Idaho. Those present were Mrs. F. J. Faux, Mrs. J. W. Christensen, Mrs. H. B. Bown, Mrs. H. V. Decker and the Misses Bird Conley, Margaret Bolton, Edda Sumsion, Gladys Stark and Edna Hardy. Har-dy. Miss Moneta Anderson and Cris-man Cris-man Christensen were married at Manti, Wednesday, May 15. Moroni Jensen and Mr. Sanders of the Austin Sugar Factory were guests of N. P. Sorenson last Monday. C. A. Anderson was a Moroni visitor visit-or last week. Mis Clara Stark is visiting with friends at Fphraim. Miss Melba Christensen returned Monday from a week's stay at Salt Lake. Simeon Hutchison of Salt Lake is visiting his motherMrs. John Mal-linson. Mal-linson. State Treasurer, D. O. Larsan, spent a few days of this week at Moroni. Mrs. N. P. Sorenson was hos!e?s to the Sorosis club on Thursday. Ira Huggins. Carmen Johansen, Mildred Irons and Clcopha Peterson were the partisipants of the annual D. O. Larson Oratorical Contest held Thursday evening of last week. First prize was awarded to Mildred Irons and second to Carmen Johansen. Ail did splendid work. |
