Show SENATOR BURROWS DEAD. Served in Senate Seventeen Years and in the House Twjnty Years. Kalamazoo, Mich. Former United States Senator Julius Caesar Burrows of Michigan died at his home here at midnight Tuesday night from an at tack of hert disease. Senator Burrows, Bur-rows, who had just passed his seventy-eighth seventy-eighth milestone, had been in failing health for several weeks. Mr. Burrows was first elected tc congress from the Fourth congressional congres-sional district of Michigan in 1ST2. and served continuously in that body with the exception of the forty-eighth congress until 1SS4. when he was elected elect-ed to the senate to succeed Frank B. Stockbridge, also of Kalamazoo. He remained in the senate for seventeen years, retiring in 1911. In 190S be was chairman of the national Republican Repub-lican convention at Chicago. |
