Show "HOME EVENING" IS AUTHORIZED BY CHURCH MEN At the regular monthly Priesthood Priest-hood meeting of the North Sanpete Stake of Zion held Saturday, November Novem-ber 13, at the North Ward chapel in this city, it was requested and instructions in-structions were given for the' members mem-bers of the church to inaugurate a "Home Evening throughout this 3take which is in keeping with the advice of the First Presidency of the church. Thursday evening was chosen cho-sen by the Stake Presidency to observe ob-serve in the North Sanpete Stake. It is desired that fathers and mothers moth-ers gather their boys and girls about them in the home and teach them the principals of the Gospel of Jesus Je-sus Christ. This "Home Evening" should be devoted to prayor, singing sing-ing hymns, songs, instrumental music, mu-sic, scripture reading, family topics, also on the ethical problems of life, as well as the duties and obligations of the children to parents, the home, the church, society and the nation. Formality and stiffness Is to be avoided, and all the fnmlly participate partici-pate in the exercises. The people who attended the meeting were heartily In favor of the movement and it will no doubt do rmuch good among the homes as there is too much running out at nights. If the plan Is carried out successfully suc-cessfully the probation officer will not have to be continually sending youngsters home Thursday nights at a late hour. On the other hand it will be the means of building up the home and a better community will be the result. |
