Show SPRING CITY The Relief Society sisters were obliged to get out in a blinding snow storm in order to attend their regular reg-ular meeting held January 4th at the meeting house. There was, however, a very good attendance considering, and all were more than glad they had braved the storm upon arriving at the meeting place they were gret-ed gret-ed by the presidency who had prepared pre-pared a surprise for lueui. The suv prise consisted of a splendid program of music and readings, the rendition of which was followed by the serving of a luncheon consisting of sandwiches, sand-wiches, cake candy, nuts, etc. In all it was a very enjoyable affair and a vote of thanks was given the Presidency Presi-dency for their thoughtfulness and generosity. Before leaving, the sisters sis-ters made arrangements for the sending send-ing of some of the luncheon to many of the aged and helpless of the town Much gratitude is felt toward the sisters for this and also for theii work done the day before Christmas when they distributed baskets ol groceries and other good things tc the needy. At this time they alsc gave away ten quilts made by them The sisters are feeling very mucli encouraged in their good work, anc that it is good to be a member of th Relief Society. They also are of the opinion lately that if they are goir.p to share in all the good things thai are being enjoyed in the ward thej must be up and doing and be in attendance at-tendance at all their meetings. |
