Show EARLY PIONEER IS CALLED BY DEATH Frank C. Christensen died Tuesday morning, January 5th, 1915 at his home in this city after a long period of illness. Mr. Christensen was born July 27, 18 35 at Horsens, Jylland, Denmark. When a boy he worked in the woolen mills in his native country. At the age of nineteen he became a member of the Mormon Church and immigrated immi-grated to America. He was married to Sophia Hansen in April 1862 and in April 1881 he was married to Anna M. Sorensen. Four children were born at their home. Three are still living. They are Peter Christensen of Stirling, Canada, Frank Christensen of Nevada and Joseph C. Christensen of Mount Pleasant. While a young man he performed a mission to his native land for the church. His first home in America was at Ephraim where he lived for one year. Then he moved to Mount Pleasant and has lived here the remainder re-mainder of his life. Being one of the early settlers of Mount Pleasant he shared in all the hardships of the Grasshopper invasion inva-sion and the Black Hawk war. He was a progressive citizen in his early manhood and assisted much in building build-ing up the town. He is remembered for his assistance given in the erection erec-tion of the Manti Temple. He .vas a man of great faith in the church to which he belonged. Funeral services will be held at the South W'ard Chapel Friday, January Jan-uary 8th. |
