Show I FARMERS' 0R- GANIZE TO HELP I THEIR JNTERESTS 1 A farmers' meeting for the purpose of getting the farmers IP "V together and make arrange- ments for the marketing of the crops of this section through a central clearing house, and co-operating with other clear ing houses in other sections t that produce the same crops, I Avas held at the City Hall last evening. It was an enthusiastic enthusi-astic meeting, the hall being nearly filled with the most progressive pro-gressive farmers of ,the city. The meeting was presided over by C. T. Drage, one of Mount ; Pleasant 's largest farmers. 0. F. Wall acted as secretary. L L. F. Boyle of Lewiston, Utah jj and A. Y. ' lecture to the farmers on how j to be good business men. j Mr. Boyle was the first speaker to address the farmers. He stated that "you can't fool the farmer much longer." He impressed upon his audience the necessity of organization. organiza-tion. Mr. Satterfield was more ' plain in his talk and related how the farmer was being overcharged in ' ' many ways and how he was being the smallest paid man when he sold Yv his products. He told of how well k ithe , farmers had disposed of their ty.r ?rops where they were organized Kj' !nd of the successes they had had J ' - 'when dealing with the manufacturers of farm impliments. ; He organized the farmers of Mt. Pleasant into the organization and . O. P. Wall was selected as president; 1 James Monsen as vice-president, and 1 Wm. L. Mad3en as secretary. |
