Show INDEPENDENCE DAY COMKIITTEEAPPOiNTED Arrangements are now being made to have a very appropriate appropri-ate program and celebration 'on July 4th. It is anticipated that the day will be well observed ob-served by the people of Mount Pleasant. : Last Saturday evening at a special session of the City Council a general committee was appointed to inaugurate plans whereby the day would be well observed by all. Capt. Thomas Braby was selected as Chairman of the gereral committee. com-mittee. Other members ' were Supt. J. W. AnLTjrson, chairman chair-man of the Program committee; commit-tee; Dr. E. G. Mills, chairman of the Parade committee ; A. L. Neilson, chairman of the Sports committee; C. D. Strang chairman of the Decoration committee; and I. E. Jorgensen chairman of the Finance committee. com-mittee. The City officials have offered offer-ed assistance by way of making mak-ing an appropriation of seventy-five dollars to be set aside for paying for part of the expense ex-pense of the celebration. The general committee will meet this evening at the office of Capt. Thomas Braby at the Armory and outline the general gen-eral plans to be carried out in effecting a good working organization or-ganization and making plans for the celebration. |
