Show Spring City American Legion Officer Directs Memorial Fete The members of the Spring City ward responded fully to the special Sunday evening Memorial Mem-orial Service with a very fine attendance Newton Donaldson, Adjutant officer of the American Legion Allen Raymon Post 59 announced the program which consisted of the following numbers: num-bers: Congregation singing, "America", conducted by Mrs. Indra Barney, accompanist, Miss Patsy Schofield; invocation, Russell Rus-sell Aiken; reading, "Letter To Saint Peter", Connell Osborne; song by a mixed ensemble, Lila Lee Blain, Maurine Schofield, Fanon Watson, LuDean Madsen, Golden Dean Terry and Donald Fullmer. The ward members and members mem-bers of the auxiliary organizations organiza-tions have plans well under waj for the bazaar which will be held Friday, Nov. 21 in the Ward amusement hall at 6 p. m. The activities of the evening will be the sale of handiwork donated by Relief society members, the MIA, Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary organizations organiza-tions will donate and sell lunches, chile, meat pies, cakes, pies, candy, ice cream, pop corn and puffed rice. A fishing booth will add amusement for all. The MIA will provide an evening of entertainment for all. Mr. and Mrs Joseph I. Beck were visitors in Moroni Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Arnoldson. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Blackham are the proud parents of a baby boy born at the Holy Cross hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake city on Nov. 14th. Mrs. Emma Zabriskie has returned re-turned home after an extensive visit to Richmond, California, with her children. The Ward Primary children have responded well to the drive for canned fruits and vegetables for the Primary Children's hospital. hos-pital. Tuesday, prior to Thanksgiving, Thanks-giving, the members will furnish and pack Thanksgiving boxes which they will distribute to the aged and shut-in of the ward. Each child will furnish one article for the basket and thfy will visit the elderly people in class groups. Royal L. Allred has been selected se-lected as a counselor in the North Sanpete Stake high priests quorum. He was formerly a counselor in the Spring City Ward bishopric. ' Mr. and Mrs. Roger Allred of Provo spent the weekend with their parents, Mr and Mrs. Roy- ai Ajjrea ana Mr. ana Mrs. trn-est trn-est Justensen. Mrs. Bergetta Jensen, president of the Farm Bureau organia-tion organia-tion for the ladies for, the Sanpete San-pete district and Mrs. Jean Puzey, Pu-zey, president of this city's Farm Bureau for the ladies attended at-tended the Farm Bureau convention con-vention in Salt Lake city the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Baxter of Dragerton visited over the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Puzey. Just before be-fore they were ready to leave for their home Sunday evening Mrs. Baxter fell and sustained a broken leg. She is at present at the Puzey home. Miss Yvonne Aiken visited in Provo Sunday and Monday. Roy Allred left for California Saturday. He will be stationed there for some time. His mother Mrs. ' Leon Allred accompanied him and will visit in Las Vegas Nevada and Los Angeles. Calif Mr. and Mrs Evard Larsen and family of Frovo have been recent visitors in this city. Mrs. Hannah Mickel, Mrs. Mary Finell and Mrs. Edith Schofield visited in Ephraim, Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verne Ericksen. Mr. Ericksen is very ill at the present pres-ent time. |
