Show Raising Pheasants The State'e twelve upland game bird sanctuaries have been planted and are now in a productive state. , Pheasants from the state game farms have been moved out to many of these sanctuaries, according ac-cording to R. L. Turpin, State Fish and Game Director. Here the birds will either seek new areas or if they become domesticated domesti-cated they will be transplanted by the State. The twelve sanctuaries have . been placed in strategic areas throughout the State. They are located in Cache, Box Elder, : Uintah, Duchesne (2), Emery (2) Juab, Utah (2), Sevier, and Iron counties. The sanctuaries were established estab-lished for several reasons, Mr. Turpin explained. First, they are an experiment station for the Game Department. The State is trying grains, multi-flora rose cavers, Russian olive trees, and several other plants as natural "o"pr for the birds. |
