Show Fairview Carlston To Be Buried Saturday Joseph Carl Carlston, 85, longtime long-time resident of Fairview, and former Sanpete county sheriff, died in a Salt Lake hospital Tuesday evening of causes incident inci-dent to age. He was born here May 11, 1864, a son of Hans and Margaret Margar-et Haarby Carlston and had been a resident of Fairview most of his life. On Oct. 2, 1884, he married Hannah Wilcox in the Logan temple. They had lived in Salt Lake city and Manti where he resided 12 years while serving as sher iff. Mrs. Carlston died Dec. 28 1934. Active in the L. D. S. church, he had been a member of the quorum of seventy in North Sanpete San-pete stake and served a year as home missionary. Surviving are two sons: Ralph C. and James S. Carlston, Salt Lake city; a daughter, Mrs. James Orton, Garfield; 13 grandchildren; grand-children; 14 great-grandchildren; six brothers, Osborne and James A. Carlston, -. Murray ;.P-i-. ter C. and Clarence Carlston. Salt Lake city; Allie Carlston, Fairview, and Ben Carlston, Ephraim, Eph-raim, and three sisters, Mrs. Annie Blaisdell, Salt Lake city; Mrs. Ella Harris, Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Annie Bills, Fair-view. Fair-view. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Hillcrest ward chapel, 3133- QfV, T?oof Coif T iL-n T Snyder Mather, bishop of the Lorraine L. D. S. ward. Friends may call at the Hillcrest ward chapel Saturday from 9 a. m. to funeral time. Additional services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Fairview L. D. S. ward chapel cha-pel by Silven V. Peterson, bishop. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Fairview Saturday from 2:30 p. m. to funeral time. Burial in Fairview city cemetery ceme-tery will be directed by the Ursenbach funeral home. Mrs. Estella Hamilton and Mrs. Helen F. Lasson were a-mong a-mong the 300 women delegates that attended the Mountain States Area Conference for women wo-men advisers. National Foundation Founda-tion for Infantile Paralysis held at the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City. June 24-26. There were 7 different states repre sented among them. Mrs. Emily Smith of New Mexico conducted the conference. Elain Whitelow was the honored lady speaker from New York City. A director of women's activities of the National Nat-ional Foundation for Infantile Paralysis Resources of the nation are better mobilized than ever before to meet a widespread polionyelitesis epedemic if one should strike this year according to Miss Whitelow. Carol is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Ed-gar Christensen. Mrs Ellen Peterson entertained entertain-ed her sewing club Wednesday afternoon. Refreashments were sered. A very lovely afternoon was spent. Mr. and Mrs. George Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Tucker attended the furnal services of Mr. Lewis Mills. A brother of George Mills. Furneral was at South Gate California and Burial was in the Inglewood cemetary. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Homer of Salt Lake City spent the weekend week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Young. Miss Faun Chtfisteosen and Miss DelVona McNiel spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Aften Christensen. V Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stewart and Mrs. Don Wiseman of Sail Lake City spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fran cillo Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Vanrc and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Vance of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ed-ward L. Hansen of Dragerton spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Dee Coon's. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Flaim of Helper Spent Saturday and Sunday Sun-day with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gull and Mrs. Sarah Snow. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Sevy on June 29. Mrs. Sevy is the former Beth Seely. Mrs. Sevy is the ninth grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Darius Sanders, and her baby is their ninth great-grandchild. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Charley Anderson Ander-son and family were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mills. Mr. and Mrs. Wood Jensen and Family of Provo were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Christensen. Christen-sen. Mrs. Nellie Carlston of Salt Lake spent the past week visiting visit-ing with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Carlston and family. Mrs. Dorthy Mower gave a shower for Miss Marelle Brady who will marry Grant Sanderson July 10. |
