Show A Completed Hospital By Jan. 1? What begins to look like the homestretch was shaping up this week for the Sanpete L.D.S. hospital. And the gratifying grat-ifying part about it is that sizeable contributions are now coming into the building fund from organizations and individuals in-dividuals in Moroni stake and South Sanpete stake. Officials of the Moroni feed company are to be complimented comp-limented far the $1,000 contribution which the firm recently re-cently pledged to the completion of the hospital. According to North Sanpete Stake President Golden D. Carlston, chairman of the hospital general committee, the amount which must be furnished by the people from this area, to help finance the building, has now been reduced to $30,000. Meantime we can look forward to a continuation continu-ation of the commendable benefits that have been conducted con-ducted during the summer and the fall for the hospital. There have been a banquet, a motion picture and a dance so far.. Next Wednesday evening there will be another banquet under the sponsorship of the Elders quorums of the Mt. Pleasant North and South wards. It would be appropriate ap-propriate if all the civic clubs in the tri-stake area would join with the action taken by the Mt. Pleasant Lions club and designate the banquet as a regular meeting for their members and wives. If we rally to the support of the hospital during the coming month, there is a real possibility that it will be ready for dedication during the Christmas holidays and for occupancy shortly after the first of the year. This is the hope of the general committee and the local committees who have served so untiringly in behalf of this highly worthwhile enterprise. Perhaps a not inappropriate slogan for the hospital funds drive would be: "Give 'till it Hurts." |
