Show MORONI I By Special Correspendonce 1 Memorial Services To Be Held August 5th For Vernon Bailey Memorial services for Vernon Bailey, who was killed in action in Italy on May 27th, will be held cn Aug. 5th in the West ward chapel at 8:30 p. m. . Everyone is invited to be in attendance. Memorial Service Held For Del Ray Sorenson of Moroni Most impressive Memorial services serv-ices were held last Sunday evening eve-ning for Del Ray Sorenson in the West ward chapel at 9 p. m. He is the son or Mr. and Mrs. Odell Sorenson and husband oi Mrs. Ruth Cloward Sorenson. He died of a heart attack in Germany Ger-many on June 15lh. The services were conducted by Joseph Ursenbach, Commander Command-er of the American Legion Post at Mt. Pleasant. "In the Garden of Tomorrow," was sung by the Singing Mothers, Moth-ers, with Mrs. Isabelle Kellett, conducting, and Mrs. Faye Draper, Drap-er, accompanist. Prayer was offered of-fered by Chaplain Joseph Olson of Mt. Pleasant. The symbol of the "White Cross" was given by Mrs. Joseph Ursenbach. Splendid talks were given by Pres. George Anderson and Joseph Ursenbach. A vocal solo, "I'm a Pilgrim," was sung by Harold Christensen, with Mrs. Heber Christensen, accompanist. ac-companist. "The Lord's Prayer," was sung by the Singing Mothers, Moth-ers, after which Allegiance to The Flag was given by the congregation congrega-tion and Taps were sounded by Max Blackham. The closing prayer was offered by Soren C. Nielson. "America," and "America, "Amer-ica, The Peautiful," was played softly on the organ by Mrs. Christensen as the mourners came in and also as they left the building. The chapel was filled with friends of the family, who extend their deepest sympathy to them in the loss of their splendid son. Bert Dice of the U. S. Army and Mc Coy Larsen of the U. S. Navy are enjoying furloughs this week with relatives and friends at Moroni. Mo-roni. Mr. and Mrs. Mozart Larsen anounce the marriage of their son, Mc Coy, to Miss Doris Niel-son, Niel-son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nielson of Ephraim, Utah on July 27th at the home of the bride's parents. They have the best wishes of their many rela-j rela-j tives and friends for a life of happiness and success. T'.ic Stitch and Chatter 4-H club ' met at the home of Norma Black-: Black-: ham on July 25th, where the af-' af-' ternoon was spent in sewing after af-ter which refreshments were served by Miss Geniel Bailey, Yvonne Draper and Joyce Draper. Mrs. D. B. Wagstaff and two children of Salt Lake City are visiting with her mother, Mrs. Maria J. Morley. Miss Barbara Jean Conner of San Francisco, Calif, has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Milton Arnoldsen, Mrs. Leona Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Urvin Morley. Miss Pauline Bailey was the speaker in the East ward last Sunday, after which Mrs. Carmen Car-men Blackburn was released as president of the Y. W. M. I. A., because of illness. Mrs. Dora Morley was chosen as the new president with Mrs. Lucile Black-ham Black-ham and Mrs. Erma Cloward as her couselors and Miss Valeer Livingston, Secretary and Treasurer. Treas-urer. The White Pine 4-H club had their 7th meeting on July 26th, where five members were present pres-ent Miss Marie Jensen, Barbara Petrson, Joyce Jensen, Phyllis Jackson and Marilyn Spell, with their teacher, Mrs. Mamie Bag-ley Bag-ley and one special guest, Shirley Shir-ley Jensen. They enjoyed a pot luck lunch, after which plans were made for their next meet-ins meet-ins Mr and Mrs. Glen Donaldsen of Spring City ave rejoicing over the safe arrival of a baby boy, born, on July 2Sth at the Dice hospital. The mother was formerly for-merly Miss Clara Anderson oi Moroni. . Miss Lois Stewart of American Fork is visiting with her cousin, Roxie Bradley. Mr and Mrs. James Larsen announce an-nounce the arrival of a grand daughter born to Mr. and Mis. Leslie Nunley of Spring City on July 7th. The mother was formerly for-merly Miss Mauriel Larsen of Moroni. . Mrs. Ella Christensen of Clearfield, Clear-field, Utah and Mrs. Ida Home of Salt Lake City spent last week end with relatives at Moroni. Mrs. Maria J. Morley announces an-nounces the arrival of a grand son born June 30th to Mr. and Uvl Burton Nielson of Spring ritv The mother was formerly Miss La Priel Money of Moroni Scott Bruno announces the marriage of her son, Glendon Cloward of the Merchant Marines to Miss Betty Bruno of Sacra mento, Calif, on July 27th. He home on a furlough now but must report back for duty on Aug 14th. Their many relatives and'friends at home are wishing them a life of success and happi- neMiss Clovice Stevens received a telephone call from her friend Harold Jones, who was at Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City to inform in-form her that he was receiving an honorable discharge from the service and would be m Moroni this week. He has been overseas for more than four years and overseas for the past two years. Mr and- Mrs. Phil Anderson and daughter, Margaret Joy of Carbon county, visited relatives here last week end. Mrs. Zella Harris and son, Ray of Salt Lake City visited last week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Tidwell of Salt Lake City ' were Moroni visitors last week. Mrs. Clista Tidwell of McGill, Nev. spent two weeks with relatives rela-tives in her old home town the fore part of July. Miss Beverly Jensen of Provo spent her two weeks vacation with friends at Moroni. Mrs. Lilian Sorenson spent last week in Salt Lake City and was accompanied back home by hep daughter, Mrs. John Bernstein and two children. Mrs. Thelma Bell has as her puest, her sisiter, Mrs. Mable Shaw and daughter, Ramona of Malta, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Kellet, Mrs. Neva Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Warren War-ren Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Glendale Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Larson, Golden Bailey and Charles Dyches attended the horse races at Beaver, Utah on July 24th and 25th. Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Anderson and daughter, Julia and son, Joseph of Salt Lake City spent the July 24th holidays at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Urvin Gee. Mrs. Ida Dice and her daughter, daugh-ter, Gladys enjoyed last Thursday Thurs-day evening with Dr. and Mrs. S. B. Rigby and family at Fair-view. Fair-view.
