Following is a report of where ihese fve brothers have been and are now located: 1st Lt. Ray Nielsen First Lieutenant Ray Nielsen, aw 29, whose wife and three iildren live at Kansas City Mo. Kay enlisted In the 29th U. S. Engineers in August, 193S. He ;efteil in Alaska in 1941. Also the 29th was sent to Alaska in March, 1942, to build the Alean International Highway. Returning Re-turning in November he went to Fort Belvoir, Virginiia, where he received hisCommission inMarch ' 1943. He went overseas with the ; 101st Engineer Combat Battalion in May, 1944, and served with the 26th "Yankee" Division with U Gen. George S. Patton's 3rd Army in France, Belgium, Lux-umbourg, Lux-umbourg, Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia. His group is now listed for Pacific duty. He spent 200 days in actual tombat, and holds the following medals and ribbons and is credited cred-ited with 140 Service points: 1st Good Conduct Medal as an enlisted man. 2nd Asiastic - Pacific Medal lor service in Alaska and the Aleutians. 3rd American Theater Rib- bon for service in Canada. 4th American Defense Medal lor service prior to Pearl Harbor, ,j and one Star for foreign service t prior to Pearl Harbor. 2 5th European Theater Ribbon Rib-bon with two major battle Stars lor battle of Northern France and battle of Germany. K 6th Bronze Star Medal for heroic achievement against the i enemy in Luxumoourg. 6th An Oak leaf cluster for jl his Bronze Star. 1st Lt. Harold C. Nielsen First Lieutenant Harold C. Nielsen, Niel-sen, age 27, whose wife and one Viild live at Grass Valley, Cali-j Cali-j tomia. I Harold was inducted into the Service in September, 1942. He was sent to Fort Belvoir, Virginia and received his Commission there in May, 1943. He went overseas with the 18-94th 18-94th Engineer Aviation Battalion in May, 1944, and went from Pearl Harbor to Saipan in July, 1944, where his group built the runways for the B-29s to Bomb i Japan. He received a Citatoin dating , from Aug. 11, 1944 to Dec. 22, i 1944 for exceptional meritorious j service in connection with Mili-i Mili-i tary construction on Saipan Is-J Is-J land, and the Marianas. i Harold was charged with the (instruction, maintenance and i operation of an Asphalt plant to j produce the needed material for i the paving of Isely Field and J related taxiways, Hardstand and , road system. j Harold is now somewhere In , the Marianas. i Conrad M. Nielsen, Jr. Eng. Conrad M. Nielsen, age 23, sin-I sin-I Hie. He enlisted in the C.P.T. of J the U. S. Air Force in December, i 1942. When the Army Transport j Command absorbed the C.P.T. i aid F.c. he was honorably re- eased with other excess en-, en-, "stees in August, 1943. He then i re-enlisted in the Merchant Ma-j Ma-j nne in Oct. 1943, and went to i a as wiper in the Engine room, J and since that time has been i Promoted from Wiper to Oiler, j to Fireman, and then to Evapo-i Evapo-i 'Mor and is now Junior Engineer J "i, a Troop Transport. He has i saijed on Cargo ships, Tankers J and Troop ships. He has made i 'our Coastwise voyages, and 7 J overseas voyages, from Midway i fid Marianas on the North, Phil- 'PP'nes West, and the New Heb-i Heb-i "des on the South.
