Arnaldo Cortesi, New York Times corespondent, says that sidewalks in Buenos Aires were white with the leaflets, distributed distri-buted in profusion and referring to the American Ambassador as "Cowboy Braden," and the "tamer of South American Governments." Govern-ments." He was likened to Al Capone and accused of blackmailing black-mailing Argentines. Previously, Mr. Braden's name was linked with a mine disaster in Chile in a poster which appeared ap-peared on public buildings. The police, it is said, in some cases, accompanied persons distributing distribut-ing the pamphlets. |
