Show Former Sanpete County Residents Hold First Picnic Meeting in an all-day picnic at Paul Park, Rupert, Idaho, Sunday, former residents of Sajipete County, Utah, with their families, now living liv-ing in Minidoka and Cassia counties, coun-ties, making a company of over 75, formed a Sanpete club and elected C. C. Nelson of Emerson district, president, and Mrs. Willard Hay-ward, Hay-ward, secretary. By vote it was determined de-termined to hold at least an annual meeting, the second Sunday in .inigiist. The place lor tn: next sccs.on will be decided upnu law. Nearly every town in Sanpete flinty was represented at the Sun-da Sun-da v picnic. Nelson giving a review of the early history of Sanpete county and a representative represen-tative of each locality contributed a number. James Neilson, formerly of Spring City talked on Indian troubles there; S. W. Beck, Spring City, Mrs. Jcseph Beck, Chester, and Arthur H. Anderson, Ephraim, spoke on the early Indian history of those places, their former homes. Mrs. Arthur Anderson, Maytield, gave a reading; a group of Ches- terians, Mrs. S. W. Beck, Mrs. Dean Schofield, Mrs. Monte Schof ieid, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Kump, Mr., and Mrs. Willard Hayward and Mrs. Suean Switzer, a visiter from Ventura, California, who belonged to the Chester group, contributed a song; Mia. Rosa Hymas told of Uie early ipiiroading in Sanpete county; coun-ty; Leo Olson lrom Mt. Pleasant, F. B. Christcpherson, now of Bur-ley, Bur-ley, formerly of Fairview, and Mrs. Retort Swan, a visitor from Buney, j each gave short talks. The latter part of the afternoon ' was given over to visiting and a sports program in charge of Dean Schofield and bicthcr Vao Sehc-j lield was enjoyed. The event was voted a good sue- cess.
