Show Big Turkey Day Celebration at Moroni on Aug. 28-29 Speakers Will Discuss Turkey Growing Topics What promises to be the biggest Turkey Day celebration ever held in Moroni is scheduled for August 28 and 29, with Dr. R. B. Thompson of the University of Oklahoma and Dr. Billings cf the University of Minnesota, being the speakers at the fourth annual celebration. The celebration will start at noon on Friday, August 28, with a band parade, followed by a program in the West ward Chapel where musical musi-cal numbers will be rendered. Following Fol-lowing the program the sports events will, take place at the cir.y park and will include . a rodeo, horse racing, an all star ball game, and immediately following the sports program, free turkey sandwiches sand-wiches and coffee will be served to all present. In the evening a special spe-cial boxing card has been arranged, and dancing will bring the day's activities to a close. On Saturday, the second day,, a caravan of turkey growers will visit some of the larger flocks in Sanpete San-pete County where topics of Interest Inter-est to all turkey growers wiU be discussed by the experts present. A meeting will be held in the afternoon after-noon where lectures on turkey growing will be givenl Among those who have accepted invitations to be in attendiance are: Professor Byron Alder and Carl M. Frisch-knecht Frisch-knecht of the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural College, Herbert Byers, general gen-eral manager of the Northwestern Turky Growers Association, Clyde C. Edmunds and Charles R. Russ of the Utah Poultry Producers Associ-ati4n, Associ-ati4n, and others. Many extensive improvements, including a waxing unit, have been made at the local turkey dressing and killing plant where it is expected ex-pected that more than 200,000 birds will be taken care of during the coming turkey season.
