Show Moroni Family Seeks . $84,000 Damages From Bus Line Due to Crash Six damage actions, seeking $84,-000, $84,-000, as an outgrowth of an automobile automo-bile accident on U. S. highway 91, in Juab county, a quarter cf a mile north of the Starr ranch, were filed in Salt Lake City Tuesday in the Third district court. The defendants in the action are Fred A. Clark, F. L. Morgan and the Rio Grande Motorways. Inc. Complainants are Ruth Hardy and Joyce Hardy, by their guardian, guardi-an, John Hardy; John Hardy, Mrs. Delphia Hardy, N. P. Sorenson and Walter Hardy, administrator in the. estate of Amy Hardy, 76, all of Moroni. Mo-roni. The complaint charges that a truck belonging to the Rio Grande Motorways broke down on the evening eve-ning of September 2, 1933, and that a second truck belonging to the company stopped in a position that would permit the load on the broken brok-en truck to be transferred. The two trucks were on the highway, high-way, in such a position as to menace men-ace traffic, from 7 until 9 p. m., i' was stated. The Hardy family were riding in a car belonging to Mr. Jorgensen, 'whose automobile crashed into th? truck. Damages asked by various complainants com-plainants for various injuries were: Ruth Hardy, fractured skull, $20,-000; $20,-000; Joyce Hardy, fractured right arm, lacerations, $2,035; Mrs. Delphia Del-phia Hardy, fractured collar bone and severed nerves leading from spinal column to left shoulder, $25,-000; $25,-000; John Hardy, scalp injuries and injuries to head, $17,965; Mrs. Amy Hardy, lacerations and abrasions, $2,500, and N. P. Sorenson, injuries to head, $17,250. The complaints were filed by the law firm of Irvine, Skeen and Thurman. |
