Show Funeral Services Conducted for S. Duane Harper Deeply impressive funeral riles were conducted Friday afternoon at the Timpanog'os Slake House fcr S. Dunne Harper. With an unusually un-usually large audience, the services ser-vices with Bishop Boyd Fugal began at 1 p.m. , Mrs. S. W. Hillon and Elwood Allen sang" the opening number, "Hold Thou My Hand". Invocation Invoca-tion was offered by Alroy Gillman. First speaker was President Vilace Radmall, who told the story of Mr. Harper's early pioneer heritage ,his parents and grandparents, grand-parents, converts to the LDS Church from England, who helped help-ed build the community. After paying tribute to the industrious, upright life of the dead man, he read "People Liked Him" by Edgar Ed-gar A. Guest.' W. Robert Marrott, former Mayor of Pleasant Grove, told of his close relations with Mr. Harper Har-per who served on the city council, and expressed appreciation of the other city officials. He was followed by a vocal duet "O My Father" sang- by Bishop and Mrs. Boyd Seely. Ertmann Chistensen chose as j his text A New Commandment I I Give Unto You, that Ye Love One Another, and after speaking on jj this and other gospel themes, as E the code by which Mr. Harper I lived, also paid high tribute to I Mrs. Harper. ( Closing remarks of symphaty and appreciation by Bishop Seely, J Mrs. Eric Peterson, Mrs. Leland S Beers and Mrs. Glade Bullock sang the closing number "Some- time We'll Understand." Mrs. j Max Thorne accompanied all numbers num-bers and also played prelude and j postlude organ music. Benediction j was pronounced by Elvin Thorne. j Interment directed by Olpin- ' Sundberg Mortuary was made in j the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery j where Reeves Cobbley of Salt i Lake City offered the dedicatorial j prayer. Pallbearers were Boyd Anderson, Ander-son, Paul Blackhurst, John Green, Paul Adamson, Thomas Fenton, and Loren West. High Priests of Timpanogos Stake acted as honoraiy pallbearers. pallbear-ers. The First Ward Relief Society care for and arranged the flowers. |
