Show Local News On Saturday evening, Bishop and Mrs. Harry S. Richards, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Farr enjoyed dinner din-ner and a show in Provo The Glen Matthews family enjoyed en-joyed a real get-together Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Matthews in Orem. Three birthdays birth-days were observed. That of the two children of Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, Dawn, 9 years aid and Glen, 3. Also the little daughter (of Gordon and LaRee Steck, who is one year old. Visiting and refreshments re-freshments were enjoyed. Others present were grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Matthews and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Matthews and children, child-ren, David, Gayle and Joyce. Mrs. Rae W. Christensen and Mrs. Inez McDonald have returned from Dallas, Texas, bringing with them Mrs. McDonald's mother, Mrs. Edith Monson, who has been receiving medical care at the Texas Tex-as City. Mrs. Monson became seriously ser-iously ill while there and Mrs. McDonald Mc-Donald accompanied by Mrs. Christensen Chris-tensen drove to Dallas to bring her mother home. Friends will be interested to know that Mrs. Monson Mon-son is resting easier at her home in American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Varney and Mrs. Jay Hall were made very happy this week by a phone call from Mr. Vamey's and Mrs. Hall's brother, Yeoman Glen L. Varney, U.S. Navy at Hong Kong. The call came directly to Leoman Hall's parents in American Fork and was clear and distinct as he sent greetings greet-ings to all the family. He informed inform-ed them that everything was fine On Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Y. Fugal and their daughters Jan-iel, Jan-iel, Lois and Gail took off in their car for a long ride through South-em South-em Utah and Sanpete Counties, stopping at Manti to see the LDS Temple there and visiting at Cove Fort and the old stake house and other interesting- places at Fillmore. Fill-more. Continuing on they drove to Delta where they visited a former ' missionary companion of Mr. Fugal, Fu-gal, Grant Bishop and family. |
